Not sure if your child needs ER care? Call (303) 563-3300 to speak to a pediatric nurse—Weekdays from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. and 24 hours a day on weekends and holidays.
Pediatric-friendly emergency room
As an affiliate of Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children, our pediatric-friendly emergency room (ER) offers kid-sized medical equipment and board-certified pediatricians from the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children.
Our pediatric-friendly ER is an "ouchless ER," which includes:
- Tools for sedation to provide relaxation and comfort for patients
- Pain-free IV starts
- Coordinated and concentrated effort to reduce pain and anxiety for both kids and their parents
North Suburban's pediatric-friendly ER is open from 10 a.m. to midnight seven days a week, 365 days a year.
If your child needs emergency care outside of these hours, he or she can be seen in our main ER and will receive exceptional care. Our main ER is open 24/7 and offers emergency medicine physicians and pediatric nursing staff.
If your child is experiencing a medical emergency, always call 911 first.
Pediatric hospital care
If your child requires continuing care, he or she may stay in our dedicated, inpatient pediatric hospital unit. For serious pediatric illnesses or complications, we will transfer him or her to Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children.
Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children has the most advanced pediatric operating room in the country, a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and a full spectrum of pediatric specialists.
