Breastfeeding/Lactation Support

Support to Help You Start Nursing Off Right

We understand the importance of helping new mothers successfully breastfeed their babies. Our Lactation Program offers support while you are in the hospital and then after you go home.

Support in the Hospital

During your stay at North Suburban, a registered nurse (RN) who is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) will visit you after your baby's birth to assist you with breastfeeding.

Support after You go Home

Once you are home, you can always give us a call at 303-457-7740  (ext. 7740) and we'll try our best to help you over the phone. For additional support, we also offer the following support group to all patients:

  • Baby-on-the-Weigh Club

    • Our lactation consultant will weigh your baby before and after feeding to help determine how much baby is getting. She can also provide advice for any breastfeeding challenges you are facing. Call Healthy Beginnings to confirm days and times: 303-457-7740 (ext. 7740).
