Rapid Response Programs

Emergency Response Fast

Cardiac Alert

When a patient has a heart attack, the most important factor is time. North Suburban Medical Center has one of the best records in the U.S. for getting its patients lifesaving procedures quickly. The national standard set by the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association is 90 minutes, beginning when the patient enters the emergency room. The national average is 122 minutes. In 2007, the average treatment time for North Suburban Medical Center was 58 minutes, nearly half the time of the national average.

Stroke Alert

Stroke patients at North Suburban receive prompt, coordinated treatment from a team of neurologists and specially trained nurses and technicians. We work with area EMS agencies to identify stroke emergencies quickly. Then we use innovative telemedicine, to coordinate with the neurosciences department at Swedish Medical Center. This allows us to bring advanced stroke care to our state’s fastest growing communities.

Condition H

If you are in our hospital and something doesn’t feel right to you, you can activate Condition H. An emergency medical team will be at your bedside immediately. Just dial “O” and tell the hospital operator Condition H and your room number.
